FDA MALARIA GUIDANCE UPDATE PUBLISHED

The FDA guidance update to the malaria risk maps collection has been completed and is now in production. Updates will be shipped automatically to subscription clients. Order forms have been distributed to all current non-subscription clients.

FDA ISSUES FINAL GUIDANCE ON MALARIA

The FDA's memorandum to all registered blood establishments entitled “Recommendations for Deferral of Donors for Malaria Risk” dated July 26, 1994 has been superceded by a new guidance document entitled "Guidance for Industry: Recommendations for Donor Questioning, Deferral, Reentry and Product Management to Reduce the Risk of Transfusion-Transmitted Malaria".
