Malaria Specific Reference Content:

  • ​List of Malaria-Endemic Countries: For screening donors that previously resided in malaria-endemic countries. 

  • List of Countries with Malaria-Endemic Areas: For screening donors that traveled to malaria-endemic areas. 

  • Ports of Call Malaria Risk Reference: Extensive listing of cruise ship ports of call in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America. Includes Amazon River cruise ports. Ports located in malaria-endemic areas are identified by color coding.

 

  • List of Non-Malaria-Endemic Countries: List of all countries, dependencies and areas of special sovereignty considered non-endemic for malaria.

  • Maps of Malaria-Endemic Areas: Color-coded maps detail malaria-endemic areas as defined by the FDA and described by the CDC for 45 countries plus 18 enhanced detail maps of malaria risk areas in Afghanistan, Colombia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, The Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

  • Overlay Maps of Administrative Divisions: Translucent map overlays detail the internal divisions of 22 countries where the CDC has described malaria areas by state, province, district, department or other administrative division. (Reference edition only)

  • Caribbean Islands Malaria Reference Map: Geographic reference of the main islands of the Caribbean Sea. Malaria-endemic islands are identified. 

  • Location Index for Mexico: Indexes of all locations found on the malaria maps of the states of Mexico. Each location listing references the state to aid in efficiently locating the corresponding detail map for each location. 

vCJD Specific Reference Content:

  • List of vCJD Risk Countries: List of countries and significant sub-national entities associated with vCJD risk. Locations are color coded to differentiate geographic vCJD risk category.

  • vCJD Risk Reference Maps: Six color-coded maps includes an overview map with a breakdown of vCJD screening time frames and geographic screening recommendations according to FDA guidance and five additional detailed maps depicting the United Kingdom, France, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, and U.S. Military Bases in Europe (and Turkey).

Leishmaniasis Specific Reference Content:

  • Leishmaniasis Risk Reference Map: Color-coded map identifies Leishmaniasis risk areas previously recommended for donor deferral by AABB (included for clients that have elected to continue this deferral).

​HIV-1 Group O Specific Reference Content:

  • HIV-1 Group O Risk Reference Map: Color-coded map identifies HIV-1 group O risk areas in Africa recommended for donor deferral by the FDA (included for clients that have not yet implemented the recommended donor screening test or elected to continue this deferral).

Zika Specific Reference Content:

Ebola Specific Reference Content:

  • Ebola Outbreak Notification Table (publication TBD): A chronological list of Ebola outbreak notifications issued by the CDC, beginning after publication of the FDA blood guidance on Ebola, published in January 2017. 

  • Ebola Virus Reference Map (publication TBD): Color-coded map identifies countries with widespread transmission of Ebola virus disease or with cases in urban areas with uncertain control measures as identified by the CDC as recommended for donor deferral by the FDA
